About Breast Imaging
The UMMC Department of Radiology's Breast Imaging division offers a wide range of breast-related services, including, but not limited to, screening mammography, tomosynthesis (3D mammography), diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasonography and breast MRI. All breast imaging radiologists at UMMC are board-certified and fellowship-trained.
The radiologists perform:
- Needle localizations
- Minimally invasive breast biopsies using ultrasound
- Stereotactic-guided biopsies
- Tomosynthesis (3D mammography)
- Guided biopsies
- MRI-guided biopsies
Breast Imaging radiologists are also an integral part of a weekly multispecialty breast tumor board and the Cancer Center and Research Institute.
